About

Ron Van Cleef received his A.B. at Syracuse University and his M.A. at City College of New York. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Modern German History at Stony Brook University where he has taught courses on Modern Europe, Modern Germany, Sexuality, and the Holocaust. His research interests include national identity, sexuality, social class, transnationalism and youth activism in twentieth-century Germany. He has published an article on "Anti-Nazi Youth Resistance," and is working on his dissertation “A Tale of Two Movements? Gay Liberation and the Left in West Germany, 1969-1989.”
