About
I am a versatile, award-winning writer/researcher specializing in the intersection of performance and composition studies. I currently teach in the Writing and Rhetoric Program at Stony Brook University.
In the course of my career, I have developed and taught a variety of classes in writing, editing, cultural history, critical theory, and allied subjects. I have also worked in directorial and dramaturgical capacities on dozens of professional and university theater productions as well as on films in development in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
Since 1999, I have served as a Contributing Editor for THEATER magazine (Duke UP). I hold D.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees in Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism from the Yale School of Drama and a B.A. in English from Duke, and I taught for over a decade in the Ivy League (first at Yale, then at Barnard College, Columbia University).
